Kuranda Transfer Information

Kuranda Rainforest forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage–listed Wet Tropics and is estimated to be over 120 million years old. This breathtaking region is home to lush tropical rainforest, ancient landscapes and natural wonders once walked by dinosaurs — making it a truly unforgettable destination and a must-do when visiting Cairns.

Located within Barron Gorge National Park, Kuranda Village sits high in the rainforest mountains approximately 45 minutes from Cairns. Because of its unique location, transport options to and from the village are limited, so it is important to organise your transport in advance.

Getting to Kuranda

There are only a few ways to travel to Kuranda Village:

Once you are in Kuranda, on-demand transport is extremely limited and many visitors find it difficult to arrange a return trip at short notice. For this reason, we strongly recommend pre-booking your transport before your travel date.
